About Us
MTB Kashmir and its associates have worked tirelessly to restore and extend established pathways and explored historical trails, that enabled cyclists to visit significant historic and cultural sites while traversing some the region’s most impressive landscapes. Long-established rides are brought into the operation, such as the Gurez Valley Trail and the Pir Pantsal Track.
MTB Kashmir has come the hoped-for economic development through ever-growing demand for cycle-related services – from food and lodging, to bike tours and shuttles. Key cycle trail businesses have formalised their association with the MTB Kashmir via its National and Official Partners programme, working together to deliver a world-class riding experience for local and visitor alike.
How it started…
The journey of MTB Kashmir dates back to the opening of the first of the Kashmir’s Cycle Trail ‘Foreshore Trail’ in 2007. Since then, we have not looked backwards as the trails have proven to be not only a fantastic way to explore the region but have also enhanced local communities by creating jobs, promoting health and recreation, and fostering conservation projects.
The MTB Kashmir now occupies an important place in Kashmir’s tourism landscape, particularly in the area of sustainable travel, with riders able to see Kashmir with a light carbon footprint and contribute to smaller, out of the way communities through the money they spend.
